Escolinha

The construction of the school went surprisingly quick, especially for African standards! It is almost done!

Water and electricity will be connected in the next couple of days. On the picture on the right, you’ll see the inner-square.

Moringa plants

Healthy and Happy children, that’s our goal. Moringa contributes significantly to achieve this. The communal planting

of Moringa trees, combined with the necessary education, results in essential awareness and motivation to reach this goal.

In line with this thought, we have several conversations with various instances to ensure Moringa will be available in schools and hospitals in Mozambique.

We as PoM also want to try, via supporters/donators, to give the children of the escolinha a healthy lunch every day.

From big to small, everyone helped planting the vegetable garden. Did you know that Moringa contains all important vitamins, minerals and amino acids.

Escolinha Activities

To ensure the nursery school teachers and children get used to the Escolinha, we’ve organised a variety of activities around the school.          The official opening is on February 20th, 2017. In the beginning of January, the preparations will start; like administrative education and the registration of the children. Early February, we will start with two activities per week until the opening. Volunteers are working very hard to prepare all toys from local materials.

Hospital Visit

Jan Nugteren, general practician and almost ready for a new challenge, had a work visit at poses de saude in Muchilia, Ampapa, Ilha and Lumbo, while also visiting the maternidade in Lumbo. The intention of the visit to Mozambique was to meet the local authorities and arrange all formalities to be allowed to work here as a doctor. It’s also very important for him to know what’s needed the most and where he would add the most value. He visited all health centres and will do his own analysis to come to the right conclusion.

Dr Quirino in the hospital in Mossuril receives the stuffed toys, the medicines, the blood pressure gages etc.

 The doctor and his staff were extremely happy with all the contributions. 

Christmas market

At the HAS University in Den Bosch at the onderwijsboulevard. Please come visit our stand! You’ll find all kinds of exotic Christmas presents or just for own use. We have very handy shoppers,bags, or colourful aprons. There will be moringa products as well of course and art cards, etc. All the funds will go The Pearl of Mozambique!
