09.30 Short visit at the museu for the participants who are here for the first time, by the director of the museum. 10.00 Installing ourselves in the Museu and a short self-presentation of all artists. Talking about all plans / program for the week.
Start of the workshops. You are welcome to visit and see the artists at their work. Maybe you will even be tempted to create some art yourself. Inside the museum you will find a museum shop, which also sells drinks.

Nakhodha and the Mermaid is a ground-breaking 33 minutes immersive experience art installation that warns how African coastal populations, who for centuries have lived in harmonious relationship with the sea, are being affected by the consequences of global warming. The project blends sound, sea chants, and traditional ecological knowledge rooted in the Swahili maritime culture heritage of Mozambique, while highlighting the threat of rising sea levels that could destroy coastal communities, cultures and systems of knowledge if global warming continues.

Workshops visual arts in the Museu. You are welcome to visit and see the artists at their work. Maybe you will even be tempted to create some art yourself. The musicians will be starting workshops on the museum square and will be practicing for the big performance of Saturday 31. Inside the museum you will find a museum shop, which also sells drinks.

Day organized especially for the children of Ilha in the Museu and it’s surroundings. The artists will participate in workshops: music, ceramics, drawing, sculpture, photography. Children can participate either in the morning or in the afternoon session. They can inscribe directly at the museu by Suzanne. The art that the children create, will of course be presented at the exhibition that opens on August 31.The musicians will have their workshops on the museum square and will be practicing for the big performance of Saturday 31. Inside the museum you will find a museum shop, which also sells drinks.
